INTEGRATION Project

Supportive measures such as nutrition or physical activity during cancer treatment are becoming more and more important. Therefore, we're very happy to be part of the INTEGRATION Project which evaluates a treatment approach for ambulatory cancer therapy. The project is managed by the Uniklinik Köln and being carried out at eleven major German hospitals.
The results will contribute to further elucidation of the synergistic effects of physical activity and nutritional therapy as supportive measures during cancer treatment.

movisens promoting young scientists

Sustainable high-quality science hinges on promoting research competence, innovation, and academic training of our future scientists. movisens promotes numerous programs to support young scientists.
These include our student projects, for which any young scientist in the field of Ambulatory Assessment, Mobile Monitoring, or Experience Sampling can apply with innovative research ideas. If we like the idea, the students are granted the opportunity to implement their study and project ideas with the help of free loan sensors and software. Each successfully completed student project can also participate in the competition for our "Student Project of the Year" award. The winner gains not only recognition, but also prizes to assist them in their future research.
In addition, movisens is an official partner of the DVS Young Scientists Workshop of the "Young Scientists" commission. Students receive informative support in the implementation of technological research solutions in addition to study planning and implementation through exclusive workshops and webinars and also through financial support.
movisens also supports the ASP Young Scientists Workshop as well as the Peer Mentoring Program of the Division of Biological Psychology and Neuropsychology of the DGPs in the form of scholarships and topic-specific lectures.
This year for the first time, movisens takes part in a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) project. The focus of this international co-operation is the promotion of young scientists and the improvement of teaching in Egypt. In this context, movisens will provide sensors and software for the planned summer school and hold a workshop.

Webinar: The valid and reliable EDA measurement with movisens

Join our webinar "The valid and reliable EDA measurement with movisens" and learn more about the practical implementation of the measurement process with the movisens EDA- and activity sensor, EdaMove 4. Get to know how to record a high quality signal with minimal effort.

You will learn how to use the electrode-based attachment system which ensures an efficient and durable connection and we’ll discuss how to record electrodermal activity in order to understand emotional affects with greater clarity.

Furthermore, we are delighted to announce Sjoerd van Halem from Tillburg University who will share his experience with EDA measurements and present his latest research project on the complexity of using triggers based on skin conductance to sample arousing events. Sjoerd just won the EJPBlog award with his paper "Moments That Matter? On the Complexity of Using Triggers Based on Skin Conductance to Sample Arousing Events Within an Experience Sampling Framework".
You can register for free. We can’t wait to see you online!

We support young scientists!

movisens is pleased to support the virtual asp annual conference in Tübingen from 13-15 May 2021 as main sponsor.
The asp conference enables young scientists to exchange the latest scientific and practical findings on talent development and coaching in sport.
The event is aimed at all those who are actively researching in the field of sports psychology or are active in other sports science disciplines.

Results Sustainability Campaign 2020

Before christmas we asked for your vote concerning our donation to ecological projects.
We are proud to inform you that we donated equally to all of the three presented projects.
This Sustainability Campaign is not intended to be a one-off action, but rather the start to a broad Sustainability Strategy that movisens is pursuing.

Webinar: Interactive Assessment with movisens – Sensor triggered Experience Sampling and Ecological Momentary Assessment

Join our webinar on the 24th of February and learn how to set up your study on the experience sampling platform, how to couple sensor and smartphone and create an interactive assessment study in a few simple steps.
We can’t wait to see you online!

Winner Student Project of the Year 2020

The winner of this year's competition for the student project of the year in context of the 10th anniversary of movisens has been determined!
Congratulations to Katharina Eckert from the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.

The prize includes a "Starter Set for Ambulatory Assessment from movisens"!
With an activity sensor of the latest generation (Move 4) including accessories and a movisensXS Basic Bundle to perform an Experience Sampling study, Katharina is perfectly equipped for her next research project. In addition, Katharina will receive an individual half-day training and DataProcessing Service from movisens. The winning prize has a total value of around 2000 euros.

For her master's thesis, Katharina Eckert performed a study to find out what role work-related demands and resources play in the coping hypothesis of the Job Demands-Resources Model for work engagement and heart rate variability.
The collected data and findings during this study were also successfully published in the following paper by her supervisor Regina Schmid. „Teachers’ ambulatory heart rate variability as an outcome and moderating variable in the job demands-resources model“.
movisens congratulates on this important research work!
